1) I've never thought about it, but is that red plate inside the lid
supposed to do anything? Document holder?

2) Where the cheapest place to get spare parts from? I need new tie-down
elastic things, clips and stuff.

 

My box does not have that.

There's a sticker in my monolock box wot says, "Spare parts are
available through authorized Givi dealers".

Swot I use mine for.

Don't think you can order online. I had to go to a shop (Givi dealer,
obviously) to get spare bits like that.

 

Yes, very handy for storing return ferry tickets, insurance etc.

Overseas, I sometimes stick a few Euros and a spare credit card in there
just in case my wallet gets lost/pinched.

As was pointed out to me on a French trip, this does mean that if
someone nicks your bike, they get the matching docs as well...
