Yes, but V.2 will have all systems displayed on an LCD screen embedded
in the back of the rider's BMW helmet, so that the now-mandatory
permanent co-pilot (sitting where the pillion once sat) can monitor
the system whilst the rider (now called "the pilot") focuses on riding
rather than running off the road whilst monitoring the system.

Also they now have a longer version of the bike on the drawing board
which is a three-in-a-row seater, so that, apart from the mandatory
pilot/co-pilot regime, they can also carry a pillion...

A stretch version that can carry the entire German football team is
    also mooted.

  3. Dazzling flashing lights? I suppose if you're riding a white BMW tourer that
could be mistaken for a police bike, people might actually pay attention -
otherwise it'd not be very different to a fly pointing its proboscis at you
    immediately before being swatted.

Perhaps they should apply this technology only to scooters - I can't imagine
too many bike riders wanting to sacrifice the enjoyment of their ride for
what's likely to be a very noisy (both in sound an vision) warning system.

Speaking of bike safety... I wonder what ever happened to the "airbag
jackets" launched a few years ago to much fanfare?

I believe there are several different brands now available.
Just because noone buys something doesn't mean it's not a good idea, or
    valid. Google wikipedia for Betamax.

Just watching the MotoGP from last night and I notice that some/most/all
of the GP riders have airbag equipped leathers.

Speaking as a VHS user I believe I am now required to counter this
    suggestion of Betamax superiority :)

*insert VHS/Betamax religious war refutation of your choice from the
    relevant Fidonet group*
