Berth broken in Calais, total mayhem on motorway towards Dover. Motorway has
    become an official lorry park.

"Yes love, we'll go to France for a romantic weekend".

www.highways.gov.uk/trafficinfo shows 2hr delay to Dover, long delays
on the motorway and part of it closed.

    "oops."

The news reckoned the berth will take two weeks to fix at least. It'll be
    mayhem for ages I reckon.

Families leaving for school half-term holiday breaks, and couples heading to
the Continent for a romantic Valentine's weekend, were caught up in the
    delays.

Insp Mark Baldwin, of Kent Police, said the increase in tourist traffic was
obviously causing a problem, but it was "perfectly manageable".

"We are hoping by Sunday it will be clear," he added.

The Port of Calais said the repairs would hopefully start next week and with
the berth reopening in a few weeks.

SeaFrance and P&O were advising customers to turn up at the right time
    nonetheless.

But neither company will take day trippers until next Tuesday.

  5. So now SeaFrance will suffer the "Technical Problems" in Calais they'd
been inflicting on Speedferries in Dover.

Looks like Norfolk Line and Speedferries could be atad buusy for next
    2 weeks.
