It seems, after an initial scare (eyeball internal pressure too high),
that I haven't got glaucoma. I have, however, got bright orange eyes
    for the next few hours.

    Carry on.

Not sure - initial tests with the "machine what blows air in your
eyes" a fortnight ago measured 29 mmHg. Testing today with a
tonometer (Goldmann?) measured 20 mmHg - the optometrist wants to
check again in 6 months, but otherwise says there should be no
problem. This is particularly good, as diabetes would almost
    certainly complicate any potential treatment...

Sorry to be a twat, but,
if you have/had "eyeball internal pressure too high" you have/had Glaucoma.

Hey, it's you that's the twat, you've got to live with it, not me, so
don't apologise. I had Ocular Hypertension, which can be a symptom of
glaucoma, but it is not in and of itself the whole of the condition.
My optometrist is satisfied there's no cause for concern at this time.

  14. I'd be happy with that. I had highish eyeball pressure a few years back, so
they did some repeated pressure tests and other stuff. It went down again
for all the following readings. Optician said it can happen, sometimes it's
stress related, they aren't sure why. Glad yours is clear, it's not a nice
    worry.

Crap piece of equipment. They work by blowing air onto your cornea and
looking for when the cornea deflects and then works the pressure out.

    Testing today with a
Much better as it is a manual piece of equipment, though the user has to
    be adept at using it.

    - the optometrist wants to
Also, the diabetes can be a cause of glaucoma, so make sure you go back.
You should be getting free eye tests anyway if you have diabetes
(though I can't quite remember). I will check on that for you and let
    you know.

  17. You're absolutely right, 'cos my optician told me that too. And I later
    checked it out.

Don't worry, I'm aware of that; I haven't paid for an eye test since I
    was first diagnosed.
