You're the fool, and making yourself look a bigger one.

Hint: There are people here with enough certain knowledge of the
subject that they wouldn't have to look it up - in fact they could
have written it for you to look up in the first place. If there was
an issue with what Alison or I had posted, we would have been picked
up very sharply indeed by the people to whom I refer.

  2. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Kiki
Do me a favour and post your medical and ophthalmology qualifications
    (with evidence thereof), would you?

It'll save a lot of tedious argument.

    Read the following article:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glaucoma

    Of course, Wikipedia shouldn't be considered a 100% reliable resource;
in this case, however, I have been assured that it is correct by
People Who Know. Now stop wasting my oxygen, and eat killfile.

  5. Lucky man. There's a new test[1] for asymptomatic kidney disease
that only needs a blood test[2] and has been in use by the NHS for about four
months[3] -- many people have been flagged with potential stage-three
kidney damage. I have to have repeat tests in two weeks to verify the
    diagnosis...

[1] Clever, actually, from my googling it.
[3] Previous tests needed urine tests 24 hours after ingesting particular
    substances.
[2] My previous bloods were 12 months ago.

  7. No thanks, you fuckwit.

fwiw, my mother has had extensive experience of glaucoma, AMD, and several
other eye conditions. So, unlike you, I do know of what I speak.

  8. <grin> It was the free thing I checked, btw, rather than the diabetes being
a cause of glaucoma. I trust the optician implicitly on stuff like that -
but don't expect him to be au fait with the minutiae of the NHS rules on
    payment.
