They might as well just say that. Others do.

not quite as extreme, but when I was looking to re-insure my bikes,
eBike were about 4 times as expensive as everyone else. I also have a
CD10, which may be the common factor.

Why would you bother insuring an '83 CG125 fully comp, though? Unless
FC isn't any more expensive than TPF&T.

I'd prefer TPO, as it's really not worth insuring against theft, but one
of the key points of cover I'm after is CIHAGM and comp is the easiest
way to get it. Some do it on TPFT.

It's proving a bit tricky really. I want to insure something shit over
the winter to get the NCB timer ticking, but with a view to changing it
for something fruitier next spring/summer, so I'm kind of balancing two
quotes in one. The systems the call center staff are using aren't much
more flexible than their web sites, so even this small detail is beyond
    them.

My most outrageous quote is still the Monster 900 I almost bought when I
was 23. 7k for the bike, 8k for the only insurance quote I could get,
    through Ducati's own scheme.

OIC. You don't think given your little local difficulty that the
answer to CIHAGM might tend to be "**** off you clumsy ****", then?

Fortunately, all the bike owners I know are fucking idiots, so almost
    certainly not.

I have one of those too and e-bike were the cheapest by far in approx
£230 whereas motorcycle direct came in at £289 [1] and AC reduced it
    to £305 [2].

the reason I'm not going with e-bike is that fact I like to be able to
    ride other bikes 3rd Party.

[1] with breakdown cover, £350 excess
    [2] with breakdown cover £400

I'm with ebike now & 3rd party cover of other bikes is definitely
    included.

don't think you are...from their FAQs

Q: Am I covered third party to ride any bike? Can I ride a friend’s
bike? Can I get temporary cover on someone else’s bike?

A: We do not provide a 'Driving Other Vehicle' extension on the
    policy.

Instead, we shall soon be able to offer something better! On your
eBike policy we will give the opportunity to add a "mate's" bike to
your policy on comprehensive cover on a temporary basis. There will be
a premium due but it should be relatively small.

The problem with a traditional 'Driving Other Vehicles' extension is
that it provides limited cover which is Third Party Only. The
disadvantage to this is; if you rode a friend's bike into town and had
an accident, the bike itself would not be covered against accidental
damage as you were the last rider in charge of the bike and your cover
was third party only. This is just one of the disadvantages. We feel
the "Add a Mate's" bike option is a better facility to provide
    policyholder.

Damn their pesky smallprint. The policy states:

"[We will insure you blah blah] Any other motorcycle ridden by
you...which does not belong to you or is not hired to you blah blah
provided that your Certificate of Motor Insurance indicates that you
    can ride such a vehicle"

I obviously blanked out the last few words as they didn't really make
    any sense.

I'm not too bothered about cihagm insurance (1) because I can't think
of anyone I know who's got a bike I really want to have a blast on.

I took my brothers KTM out a couple of weeks ago and returned it after
about two miles because it felt **** awful to ride, as did his
Husaberg before it. Unless someone gets a latest generation litre bike
that's so far ahead of the field that I feel tempted to buy one I'm
not interested in other sports bikes so the extra cost on my insurance
is better spent down the pub.
I'm always doing that sort of trick.

    (1) The cihagm bit is useful if Adie wants me to ride any of her bikes
and tell her what's fucked on them.

I'm not too fussed about it either. The only other bike I ride is
Jackie's Raptor & I can add that to the policy next spring.
