Going back to Japan

My 400 Four carbs, that is. Been bought by a Jp collector with a 6000+
FB. He seems to buy memorabilia, collectables, that sort of thing. Never
seems to sell anything: just buys stuff[1]. I bet he has a boutique on
Tokyo, and I imagine my carbs will be mounted on a mahogany plinty with
a five-figure price tag.

All you'd see is the crew-cut hairdo poking out of the collar, and six

Mystery cleared up: the buyer is an agency, presumably buying on behalf
of Japs who can't read English, let alone enquire in it, or who haven't
got the time to do it.

It makes sense - you tell them: "I want this!" and give them a budget,
and let them get on with it. Actually, I'm sure I read somewhere that
London's now got its first Ebay agency as well.

I'd love to know who's actually bought those carbs. That was probably
the last NOS set left on Planet Earth. Probably a serious collector
and/or restorer.
