  2. I don't recall anyone saying they were working down there this year........
and you didn't say hi to us either! :) Which corner did you work? We did
4, 10 and 12. I think it was the most boring time we've had there...

Change of subject - just got back from the old Shogun (now Team Moto),
harassed Chris Vermuillen, Karl Muggeridge, Krusty Ferguson and Josh
Brookes, won a Kryptonite lock, checked out all the shiny new Hondas and
non-existent new Triumphs. Much better than writing the job application I
    should be doing!

    Cheers

I'm not sure about Al or IK but I was on 10 on thursday and 8.8 Left on
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Damn good racing and general hurtling around a
manicured bit of bitumen I thought. Plus the weather was perfect.

    TB
Got Mick Doohan's Autograph, dribbled like an idiot while IK chatted with
Anthony West, stood behind various GP bikes and inhaled their fumes/felt the
exhaust, got dissed by Collin Edwards and had a photo taken on a Rossi rep

Hope you got one of the new ones that aren't easily opened with a
    ballpoint pen...

    Eh?
Why "obviously"? (or are you referring to the learner's permit "exam")

....either that or she's hiding them from me!!
    gNATALIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
    Clem
(I was out teaching gNat to drive in the Brumby and as we approach the
intersection I say "foot on the clutch", "foot on the clutch"
    "foot on the clutch"
"FOOT ON THE CLUTCH!!" as we judder to a lifeless halt....

"Why didn't you put your foot on the clutch" queries I?

"I DID Put my foot on the clutch!" She snaps at me. "..I just didn't push
    it in!"

    Can't argue with that!)

  14. I am, unfortunately it's a temporary secondment. There's now a permanent
position available, so I'm going for it. Otherwise I may be unemployed, or
even worse, back at the old hell hole, when I come down for the next
    Superbikes...!

Geez mate, good luck, hope you get, you'd be a shoo in though if you've
been in the role a while, surely ?

(But then again when there's public service administrators involved I
guess you can never assume it'll be a logical or rational process)

  20. Thanks! Yeah, being offered a job is one thing, getting it permanently is
another. Half the staff in the building are temporary. At least I can talk
the talk now! :) But QH is going through a major reshuffle at the moment
too. On top of everything else our unit has to justify it's existence [1]
in a review in February, so I'm not even sure if this position, although
    advertised, will be appointed...

[1] We're unique in Australia, provide all clinical costings and a general
database repository and reporting service. Our staff have reporting skills
that no other unit has, even the official data services unit. Other states
are looking at duplicating our functions - and the powers that be want to
get rid of us! Oh well, at least advanced Crystal 10 reporting stands me in
    good stead...
