I will fight for the right to gather - for most things. Just not this.
It's obscene that it was licensed at all.

  5. Have you ever been to it?
Whether or not it's being used to clean some filthy cash, it's one of
the premier events of its type and for it to be under threat because of
some wankers is out of order. For it to be under threat because of some
copper in charge with an anti-biker bee in his bonnet is also well out
    of order.
If the authorities were doing their job the whole laundering thing could
be stopped or significantly reduced - if it's happening at all.

    Why?
I don't see the same objections being raised about, say, the BMF for
    example!
Then of course, you could add things like the V festival, or the right to
    gather at Stonehenge.
The plod, just want to try to ban any gathering of numbers, it means their
    annual leave doesn't get cancelled.
It's a Police State and they are doing all they can to enforce their "Iron
    Will"

    Just my HO.

  7. a field full of fat wankers with bad hair listening to shitty music
and talking about their terrible motorbikes? christ, i'd hate to see
one of the low-ranking events of its type.

I think it should be allowed to go ahead.

And then the venue nuked on the day.

that's exactly why I mentioned it - one of the stated justifications
for introducing the bill at the time was to prevent money laundering.

BMF - for all their faults - aren't really all that active in the area of
organised crime and drug running are they?

No, but it's a "Motorbike Event" and that's what plod is trying to stop.
It's not _just_ the BB either, last year they tried it on a number of
    different venues.
