Having never heard of the things, I've now just seen a marquee full of
them - at the Northumberland County Show. Odd looking beasts, but
apparently well able to stand Northumbrian winters. The wool, which
obviously does its job well, was on sale at £11.75 per 100g ball.

  4. We've agreed in principle now that we're going to make this move. Gives
us a couple of years to get sorted, etc, see the kids into uni, sell a
house (or two, and buy a flat or something to keep a UK residency) and
to make the first stages of setting up the work that I'm going to do out
    there.

We've discussed it pissed and discussed it sober and reached the same
conclusion both times. It's a bit overpowering, actually, given that
'over 50' is rather a late age to do something like this.

    Apparently, we own an Alpaca.

Haven't seen it, as it appears to be on the other side of the world,
being looked after by a South American farmer.

  9. It has been observed that it went phut some time ago. As did The

Not at all - it sounds like a very sensible time to be doing it
actually. I guess the big downside will be the distance from the kids.

On a run from the Black Horse last year, we passed a field with some
    alpacas looking over the wall.

One of those unexpected things you see, as you follow instructions from the
GPS up a steep, single track road with grass down the middle. I thought it
was great fun. Not so sure about Monz on his gixxer...

Check if having UK residency is beneficial or actually
detrimental. While it's nice to have something to come back to if things
don't work out, it might be a bit of a pain in the posterior if you're
half a world away. Actually I might be able to report back on that given
that I'm planning to keep the Schloss, at least initially.
Why? As long as you're going somewhere with decent healthcare I don't
    really see the problem.

14000 miles on the CBR600RR for a long weekend would be a bit too much,
    even for me.

Chilean wines seem to be not bad. What's the local equivalent of the NHS
    like, given your advancing decrepitude?

Jesus, yes, you'd end up with Chalfonts like TOG's.
