    "Aerodrome Road"
    "Handley Page Road"
    "Blenheim Drive"
    "Proctor Walk"
    "Spitfire Way"

    Hmm.

Compare and contrast with the former Woodley Aerodrome:

Apropos of WW2 stuff; I watched the last episode of the Real Dad's Army
on C4 last night and when the bloke showed the Pett's Wood AA battery
site I realised I'd walked over that area many times as a lad. My folks'
house was only about 200 yards from there.

  7. Heh! Well found. Not that interesting then. It just looked an odd shape and
I wondered why the roads showed up but they weren't named.

Wasn't that just the *best* series. I've read a mountain about WWII but
there was lots of new stuff in there.
After the last episode I had a little chuckle at the thought of a couple
of hoodies mugging grandad.....only to get their arms broken and a Sykes
3 inches into the neck ;o)

  9. Yep, those old gimmers still knew the moves. Bit lacking in the physical
strength they once had, but the right moves don't need it.

One or two of them had me fairly convinced they would have been ruthless
    bastards in the day.

  10. I landed at Hawkinge on my hang glider just befoer the development
started. Probably the last aircraft to land there.

It was the home of the "Nigeria" squadron allegedly but beofre the 419
    era......

Still fly at Crete Rd West on paragliders.
