Got pulled this morning

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Steve Bullimore, Feb 24, 2004.

  1. So I've had 2 R1's nicked recently and have I heard one single thing
from the Police about either? Of course not. For all I know absolutely
nothing has been done to try and find the thieves - the police
    probably dont have the resources.

Instead they have resources to pull me over on my way to work this
morning on the M23 to point out that the exhaust on my little GSXR600
(cos thats all I can afford to insure now) doesnt conform to required
standards - so lets raise a load of paperwork to track that you will
change it in 14 days and yet more paperwork to make sure I produce my
    documents in 7 days.

    FFS.

    Write to your MP.

What's the worst that will happen?

    Quite Right too!

It's people like you that give us all a bad name. I mean, what do you think
you are doing? Enjoying your riding? Not harming anybody?

I bet you're one of those dangerous type that pulls wheelies too. I've lost
count of the number of innocent women, children and puppies that I've seen
killed by people who pull wheelies and fit loud pipes to their bikes.

  5. But you're the criminal, you might speed and injure a bus load of
babies. The bike thieves probably had a deprived childhood

Its a good job you weren't on a stolen bike, drunk [1] or wanted to help
the police with their inquiries in relation to that 'other' matter.

All they could get you for was a dodgy exhaust. Mind you, they should
have prosecuted IMO. You were lucky to just get a rectification
    certificate.

    [1] you murder

Yes, it's anoying.. but nobody forced you at gun point to change the
exhaust for a police bover making device.

  9. MI5/6 camped on your doorstep as you're obviously a troublemaking
    subversive type.

Possibly, but the more letters that arrive at Political HQ with the words
'Brunstrom' , 'unhappy voter' and 'do something' the more chance
it might stick in someone's brain.

    Hopefully.

You have a point, but considering the bloke's had TWO bikes nicked with no
come back, I can see why he might feel a little
aggrieved at being stopped for such a life endangering item as a dodgy
    exhaust.

True, but even more reason to avoid bringing attention to yourself by
    fitting a noise making device.

  13. A race silencer isn't a noise making device.
Loud is the natural state of an engine.
A legal silencer is a noise suppressing device that reduces power,
increases fuel consumption and is an abomination in the sight of the Lord.

    Lord.

    Ok then..

    I'll say;

True, but even more reason to avoid bringing attention to yourself.

    That ok?

He didn't bring attention to himself.
Attention is focussed on an object or individual by the viewer.
He merely caused the attention to remain focussed on him longer than
    he wished.
