Picked it up from the garage in Oxford, serviced, 2 new BT45's and a years
MOT, not bad for £250.00 I reckon.

Only problem was the air filter. The cover is plastic, held in place by 3
steel bolts, with steel captive collars. 2 undid no problem, but the third
one just spun around as the collar has loosened in the casing. Any ideas
    for getting it undone?

The BT45's do feel very different to the Dunlop Arrowmax's, there seems to
be less weaving about, and the bike feels generally more surefooted, all in
    all a good choice.

The old Artrowmax's were the oem ones, with 11K miles on, so they were a bit
    shagged.

They seem to be a good choice for the CB, the garage chappy was also
    extolling their virtues.

Yeah, though if and when you wear out the front a BT 39 (or was it 37?) is
the same thing but with the side wall's softer grippier compound all through
and they are even better. (The CUP racers mostly use them IIRC). But keep
45s on the rear as they do last significantly better.

    !!! Warning !!! Erk ! Ekk !!!! Warning !!! When new-ish BT 45s (and
even 39s) are very not grippy compared to the one's that just came off. Do
not trust them until they are *well* scrubbed in. Speaking as someone who
chucked a CB 500S up the road thinking after about 100 miles they would be
adequately scrubbed in, trust me on this : -(

Cheers for the advice. Garage chappy reckoned on about 100 miles for
scrubbing-in, what do you reckon, seeing as you slid yours after this
    mileage?

    Longer ;-)

Dunno really - It made me dead warry for at least the next 150 then I forgot
about 'em and they were fine by then.
