Got the Insurance Renewal Letter today...

I was sort of dreading this.

I got the daytona in part because it was a "big" bike, but the
insurance was much less than the jap litre sportsbikes. As "What is the
largest capacity motorcycle you've been riding in the last x years?"
was a question that was creeping in (in various forms and variations) I
thought the daytona would be a nice stepping stone.

It was an extra £250ish to swap the £500ish FC policy on the daytona to
the 10R for the remaining 10 months. Not too bad I thought, having paid
more than that for the first year on the daytona. No doubt there'd be a
big increase next year, but if it comes to it I'll have to sell the
bike and get something else. At least I'll have 10 months of my dream
    bike.

So today I get in to find a letter from Motorcycle Direct. Oh-oh. Rip
it open, and find the word "renewal". Ah well. It's been a good year.

It's even better now it's going to be 2/3rds last year's premium,
including commuting, pillions, etc. I'll have a hunt round, but I think
    I'll be sticking with MD.

Funny that, I found my Daytona 955i about 50 quid a year more expensive
than the Gixer Thou it replaced.

Mine was up for renewal this Sunday and after a bit of negotiating
with CN I got it down to £298 and I'm still covered on other peoples
    bikes.

The original quote for the same cover but with the FZR250 on it as
well was £540. I find it amazing that the FZR was effectively an extra
£242 to insure and decided that I wouldn't bother insuring it.
