The government here in SA i can atleast say is a joke when they talk about
roadsafety. They get the police to test hundreds of thousands of people
drinkdriving and catch only a couple. This is waste of time when you consider
how many people they test to get only a couple of people, usually the dumb
ones anyway.Dont take this as saying i support drink driving either as i
dont. Then you have speed cameras used as revenue raises, this issue has been
done to death but its true because they are all in the convenient
locations, thankfully i havent been done by themNow out of all that wonderful
revenue what percentage goes back into fixing the roads?Judging by the
conditions of our roads here itd be lucky to be 5%.Over in Perth i noticed
they have smooth easy traffic. When the roads crack the transport department
fix them by using this goo to hold the road together and very slippery for
motorcyclists.I dont ride my bike on wet days, however due to my job as being
a postie its part of the job.So maybe instead of whining about guys who
speed by 5-10km they could first pump a little cash into SAs dodgy roads
    before preaching about road safety.Tim

Only 7 days into the new year and already a contender for "Worst Troll 2004"
    appears.

That's presuming you didn't give up due to it all being in one big block of text.
And i dont see any Trolls under the bridge. Maybe i should start believing in
    Fairytales.

  4. One could argue that the knowledge that there is a real police presence,
and that there is a pretty good chance that you WILL be tested, has
meant that far fewer people are prepared to take to the roads while at
risk of being done for DUI.
Everyone knows where they are. Why do people still keep exceeding the
    speed limit at these points?
Agreed, to a certain point. Roads that are suitable for cars at a set
speed are not necessarily suitable for motorcycles. However, knowing
that, it would appear prudent for a motorcyclist to take those
conditions into account and adjust his riding accordingly.

It's never always just ONE party at fault.
