GP and photos

after all the digi cam threads I was thinking of bringing down to PI my
woefully underused real fillum SLR gear this year.
It looks like the real thing, has some of the bells and whistles, motor
drive, couple of camera backs, long lenses, monopod, but it is a bit short of
actually being real pro gear. I've hardly used it since I gave up surfing in
the late eighties.

Looking at the GP website* I'm not sure it will be let in, 200 mm max, no
tripods, etc., has anyone heard any stories about how strict they are for just
non pro private use. I'd hate to have to leave a pile of stuff back in the car
if I'm knocked back at the gate.

*Item 2
Patrons must not, without the prior written consent of AGPC, bring any of the
following items into the event:
(p) Any photographic, video or audio recording equipment AGPC deems
unacceptable for the porpoises of condition 14, which may include ... monopods
or lenses with a total focal strength greater than 200mm and digital video
equipment

Condition 14
yadda yadda, footage for gain or profit, express permission except for private
enjoyment.

Item 6(a) to not pick any flowers...

Oh, and the carless and bikeless justAL Gardner,
if you're stuck for a lift to the dinner or PI (Sunday only) give me a call,
I'm in the next suburb just over from you in Murrumbeena.
There will be a zero BAC driver on both occasions, thankfully
though, not me.

 

What exactly do they mean by digital video?
I have a mini digital video camera that records onto tape. Would that
be acceptable or is this what they are targetting?

yep, DVcam can be used for news. How the hell they gonna find it at the gates has me fugged.
