ISTR Bear singing the praises of the GPS mount on his R1, that fixed in
the steering stem nut. Made by some bloke in a shed, IIRC.

    Can anybody remember the details?

Yeah, I know, but Bear seemed infeasibly happy with what he'd got.

Anyway, I got my Google mojo workin': http://www.telferizer.co.uk/

Not having tubular bars on the thou I wondered how I was going to mount
a TomTom but five minutes of head scratching later I'd got the ram mount
clamped to the left clip-on, just between the clutch lever mount and top
    yoke. Job's a good'un.

Nope but I've got a genuine RAM one at home somewhere that's yours
free if I can find it. I had a quick look when Ogden was over on
Saturday so I could show him what they look like but basically it's a
tapered rubber bung with a centre bolt that compresses the rubber
locking it in place. Not expensive even if you buy the genuine
    article.

Mr Telferizer himself phoned me last night, and told me all the details
about his kit, and I asked him about the differences between his and the
RAM one. The genuine RAM one doesn't sound like it's particularly secure
(depending on the bike, I guess), whereas Telfer's sounds like it would
need a direct missile strike to shift it.

It'll be about 20 quid more than the RAM stuff, but I'm happy to pay
that for the service he provides and the peace of mind.

It goes right through the steering stem, and bolts underneath, AIUI.
Slotted washer at the bottom to ensure that any water that does manage
to get in can get out again. All lovingly hand-crafted, polished on the
    thighs of virgins, etc.

He'll molish the appropriate pieces for me, include all the other RAM
pieces that I need, then send them to me for my approval before he takes
any money off me, or I can just send the bits back if I'm not happy with
    them.

It doesn't really scale as a business model.
