Heh, my old mans favourite addage at the moment is "whatever you do,
    look after your health".

I pointed out to him that he had led an extremely health conscious
life, and if he was living proof of the benefits I would continue to
largely disrespect my own health as it appears to make **** all
    difference.

    He conceded my point.

  4. Chassis then (and the underside of the car). Anyway - I'm an IT wallah.
I leave all that mucky mechanic stuff to people that enjoy it and get
    paid to do it.
    The box-sections get wax-injected too.

  5. When we were looking to buy a Moggie we nearly got one off an Aussie
contractor that worked with us at Galileo but in the end decided to buy
the car we have now off the Morris Minor Centre (for lots of reasons -
complete chassis rebuild, good condidion etc etc).

Two weeks later the rear suspension on the car we passed over
collapsed with the suspension coming up through the rear floorpan
    (which had completely rotted out).

The Aussie contractor was deeply unhappy - she now had an unsellable
car and only a month left on her contract. She didn't talk to us for
the remainder of her contract. But then if she *had* sold it to us I'd
be looking for my money back.

  6. Ours get wax-injected every two years. Then just before they redo the
waxing they clean them out, oil them and redo the wax-injection.

    Which one?

There's the 10R which might be a bit much for you, the BMW you'd
probably be ok with once you'd got used to the handling and the
undisclosed bike that arrives tomorrow you'd crash within 24 hours.

Every year's a bonus. I've spent years doing stuff a lot more
dangerous than going to work or smoking a few cigarettes so a bit of
inherited ill health is **** all to worry about.

You need to be more specific.

"I'm going to modify your life expectancy with a baseball bat" is a
    decent starting point.

It's a dead cert. Adie has to be back in Bedford by 12:30 so it's
going to be an early(ish) collection.

  19. Too right, cobber. Never, ever buy a car from an Aussie (present company
    excepted, of course).
