All this Lozzi and Champi stuff is reminiscent of something else...

    Including the majestic møøse

A Møøse once bit my sister ...

No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse
with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given
her by Svenge - her brother-in-law - an Oslo dentist and
star of many Norwegian møvies: "The Høt Hands of an Oslo
Dentist", "Fillings of Passion", "The Huge Mølars of Horst
    Nordfink".

Tell them you're a famous gourmand, your mouth has five Michelin stars and
    is insured for £5m.

My dentist has stopped doing NHS work, finally. I very seldom[1] need
anything done, so I don't think I'll be signing up to any private dental
health plan anytime soon. I'll just not bother for a few years.

    [1]every other decade or thereabouts.

  4. Ho hum. I have just finished a set of root canal treatment and just as
that ended another tooth decided to give up the ghost. That meant a
filing and I hope the dentist caught the decay in time - we shall see.

The end of the root canal stuff coincided with the start of the new govt
inspired NHS dentistry regime. The dentist said the following

    a) they are not going private
    b) however all prices are getting a 20-30% premium on them because
the fixed income from the state is only sufficient to treat 50% of the
    patient list.
    c) they have closed their books to new patients. Previously they
have been very happy to take on extra NHS patients immediately.

This week I noticed that the waiting room had posters up saying "if you
miss one appointment you will be immediately removed from the patient
list". One strike and you are out!

The whole NHS thing at present is a complete and utter shambles. I have
been very concerned about the dentistry situation for years. It makes no
bloody sense as long as the statutory right to dental treatment remains
in place because local health authorities will soon have no way to
actually provide the dental care via NHS dentists. I am sufficiently
pissed off with the government over the health service [1] to not vote
for them because this is not what I expect from a Labour Government -
and that's before all the other stuff they haven't done or have
completely and utterly cocked up. If it was the Tories I would not be
    remotely surprised.

[1] and what is worse is that there is not even an attempt to provide a
coherent explanation as to what the hell is going wrong or why. I'm one
of those daft voters who believes we are owed an explanation when things
are as mad as they are at present.

    Good news
They are *not* allowed to do this. Treatment on the NHS is for a fixed
fee. Under the new contract there are three (ICBATG) charges depending
    on what you've had done.
They are not allowed to do this either. Again under the new system it's
much more difficult to remove patients from a list than it was before.
Charging for missed appoiintments is also not allowed anymore
The situation is indeed grave. The SO has quit dentistry because of it.
She got nothing for her business, even though her list was taken over
by the local health centre because the Health Authority decides who get
a contract and who doesn't, making goodwill payments unnecessary for the
    buyer.
