Group is starting to suck

  1. fwiw, if yer gonna go that route, go for the internal wiring too. bit
of a PITA to do, but the cleanup it does for the look is astonishing.
Did that on the RK and it reallly makes a diff in the appearance. I
used the Wild1 Chubby 504 bars, iirc. do that and then steel braided
clutch and brake lines and it's tits.

need conchos, and lots of them. that way you get to put out sparks as
you slide too. very pretty, especially at night, kinda like tracers!

anybody going on the big-ole toy run sunday?
i know waco isnt . but how about anybody else from this group?
i plan on making the slow ride out to the toy drop off spot, doing just
that, then making a fast run to strokers and getting an adult refreshment.
then bee-lineing it back home to wylie.
    any one up to it?

Hey Joe.. don't be so hard on my ol' friend Waco.. He's preppin' for that
run in Mexico, in March.. LOL.. From Wyle to Arlington to Strokers and back
to Wylie.. Waco and me might consider inviting you to go along with us in
march, but I don't know if you could hold up to all that stress... We'll at
least be gone overnight.. LMAO.. Think about it..

I've had old people complain about me parking in handicapped
    spaces...because I wasn't old.

I've had one cop challenge me and insist that there wasn't anything
wrong with me and I wasn't allowed to park there. I reached over and
pulled down my placard and showed him my DL on the thing. I then asked
for his medical license which he obtained to determine by looking at
someone their medical history. He stood there looking like a boob he
was. I've also had a couple people see me lift and pull things of
ENORMOUS weight and then when they see me pull into a handicapped
space say "you can pick that van up and carry it, what makes you
handicapped?". The law doesn't say you have to be feeble and old to
    qualify.

You just gave me an idea. I'll head out to the mall next week with a
few friends....getting close to xmas, then. One of us will park our
bike on the sidewalk, another in at the end of a row, and another in a
parking space. We'll dump all our gear off near the bikes. Then we
will all wear something casual, but nice, and have a clip boards.

As the people walk in past the mall we'll poll them about how pissed
off they are at the various motorcycles.

    ;-)

Just kidding, that is way too much effort.

But! (there is always a "but" isn't there?) As far as I am
concerned it slightly makes up for all the bullshit we have to put up
with as bikers. Not to mention whenever you go to an event that they
charge for parking they pop you for full price. I argued with the guy
one time - "hey now, FOUR bikes can fit in one spot." he didn't
care....so, we (all four of us) took up four separate spots instead of
parking in just one. We figured if we were paying for 'em, might as
    well use 'em.

mentally deficient persons! Maybe I'll go apply.....

San Jacinto Mall in Baytown has motorcycle spaces near the food court
entrance. I haven't been to the mall on my bike yet, so I haven't tried them
out. Essentially they have a bunch of spaces a few feet wide with concrete
curbs between them. Not sure how the fit would be, but it's a nice touch.

I'm thinking about the 508's. Did you consider those? I'm just curious
if there might be an advantage to the 504's over the 508's. The internal
wiring might be a little over my head, but I've thought about that, too.
Definitely gonna go with the SS lines no matter what.
I can barely tolerate the conchos on my bike, so I don't think I'll be
adding those to the chaps. :)

By the way, as a surprise anniversary gift, my wife presented me with a
new Fox Creek Leather jacket last night. Now my posing should be
complete. :) Hmmm...do they make collar stays for leather jackets?

I'll be going. I'll just be going with the chapter here, is all. I hope the
weather will be good. It will be the biggest bunch of motorcycles I've seen
together so far, I'm sure. I haven't been to any of the big rallies
yet...and certainly none of the national ones.

I parked on the sidewalk at Ridgmar Mall a couple of months ago. Came
out and some rent a cop was about to write me some kind of warning.
He told me not to park there any more.

Arlington is my home stomping grounds. I am going to try to make the
run from Ft. Worth to Arlington. I'll be the one riding the Red
Aprilia Falco. Probably the ONLY one in the whole group. ;-)

: A motorcycle lift... for $89. The same one that Sears has for $99 (with a
: mail-in rebate). Going to go pick it up Sunday at the One Day Sale being
: held out here at the Lion's Club. I was going to get it for Joe but it will
: sure make it easier for both of us to change the oil, tires, etc., on our
    : bikes. :)

Sunny, the lift will make it nice to work on your bikes, but one problem I
have heard of people having with the cheap lifts is the bolts holding it
together sometimes fail. Keep an eye on them, and if they start to show
any kind of strain or problem, replace them with grade 8 bolts.

    Enjoy wrenching!

I might just have to do that! I am trying to get Bling! to go along,
too. He had some problems with his bike and was working on them. I
    think he got it running.

Good advice! That would suck to have your bike on a lift and a bolt
sheer off and the bike fall! I've heard horror stories about people
with sport bikes that get the cheapie stands and have their bikes fall
    off of them.

  20. it's all about the way the bars fit *you*, that is the most important
    thing obviously.

    here's the trade-off:

    internal wiring looks grea.;
external wiring lets you change bars like you change pants.

got supmin and they're close but not perfect, change'em. absolutely
certain these are the bars for you? do the internal wiring and
    faggeddaboutit.

(the internal wiring is the shiznits if yer really set on the bars, imo)
