    Hi all

I have a 2003 GSXR 1000. Sometimes the warning light comes on when I'm
riding and the temperature display keeps flashing "FI" . I understand this
means one of the sensors on the bike is failing a test. Apparantly this is
fairly common for these bikes judging by a quick google I did. I've read
that it's possible to get the dash to go into "dealer mode" by shorting a
couple of pins on a particuler connector together so that the display shows
the error code for the faulty sensor. I've found the connector described in
other posts (a white connector block with a black rubber boot covering the
pins, located under the rear seat cowl).

Unfortunately the instructions I've found so far say there are only two
wires on this connector but I have 4. Their colours are : Orange/White,
Red/White, Black/white and grey. Can anyone tell me which two wires I need
to short together to get the bike to go into dealer mode ??

I already have the error codes so no need to dig them up...

Any info you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated cause this is
    starting to annoy me!

    I only have a 2001/2002 man-well (I'm an ex-gixxer owner).

What you could do is get a 10k resistor, and connect each
wire combination. A 10k resistor will still pull down most
lines (logic family), yet will limit current.

Why don't you just take it back to the dealer and have them fix it ?

You should be able to find the how to on this at gixxer.com. If you've got
a Powercommander I'd check the connections around the injectors by
unplugging and plugging them back in. Sometimes a loose connector or
moisture can give you an intermittant read out.

This info relates to a K1, so might not be applicable
Anyway, mine has 2 plugs in that location; one 4 pin with only 2 wires
wht\red, blk\wht, which is the dealer mode plug - just use the 2 connected
terminals -same colour code might apply to yours?
The other plug has ~ 6 wires, and is the reprogramming plug - I think?
Mine occasionally shows the F1 light, and I have previously posted about
it - relates to the butterfly in the intermediate exhaust pipe. If you get
into dealer mode and find your problem relates to that, get back to me as I
    might be able to help.
