gxsr750 brakes

I don't poke my head in here too often and suspect I might shortly be
reminded why but I wonder whether the wisdom here assembled can tell me
whether the front brakes on a gixer 750 k3 are all completely shit or is
it only on the one I've just bought?

They have 4 pot Tokicos as standard, and they're better brakes than the
standard 6 pots found on the Gixer thou. It must be your set, cos I've
put those 4 pots on other bikes and they've been wonderful.

Try changing the pads for some Carbone Lorraine SBK3s, and get some
brake cleaner to clear the accumulated brake dust shite off the discs
before you bed them in.

 

My local dealer's workshop lists their two least favourite routine jobs
as fitting head races, and brake caliper strip/rebuilds.

Yours isn't a K2/3 though?

 

Nowt wrong with the K3 ones - they'd reverted back to 4-pot by then.

Difference being that on the Thou they were 4 pot radials from the K3
onwards, on the 750 they weren't radial until the K4 model.

 

Sorry, didn't realise this was still referring to the 750s.
