Do you really think anyone wanted him to stay in Germany?

Thats nothing; I've done week long campy/walky/fishing stints (1)
    without facilities before now. :)
Wooly underwear is where its at. Oh and camp fires :)

Had that at this years Elefant too. Didn't think it was a problem as
long as the condensation remains frozen. Although it claimed to be a 4
man tent it was good for one, allowing plenty of space to avoid touching
the sides and placing your wet gear to one side until it froze.

Once again my Alpkit Skye High SH1000 sleeping bag performed as expected
and kept me toasty at night, so a recommendation to them, reasonably
    priced too.

I had very little condensation in mine, despite having it fully manned.
    Mesh inners rock.
I was using a Mountain Equipment Something-line supposedly good to -12, with
a summer bag inside it. The ME bag would have probably been fine on its
    own.

  7. I thinkj the wood smoke and general lack of hygiene had something to do
with it. Possibly the Chalfonts as well.

Yupp. Only in Merino can you wear the same ski shirts and long john's
for four days without it even startiong to get niffy. Great stuff, and
also better than anytning else IME at keeping you warm, wicking sweat
away, and not being too hot at the same time.

    and Poo.
I'm schizo about not having gone this year as it looks like a Classic
    Elefant.
There again i'd have had to go on the Pan Euro and would almost
    certainly have dropped it
and I can barely pick it up in the dry....

I took some professional recommendations and bought the stuff just to go
last year and agree absolutely. Potentially expensive but Tog24 have a
couple of factory outlets who run occasional sales.

There was a perfectly good chemical loo not 60 paces away for such things

Never heard of that brand. The most known and 'original' brand I'm
aware of is IceBreaker. They effectively established the niche market
for the stuff and AFAIAA are still teh market leader.

TBH there are so many brands out there it's hardly surprising,
especially to someone as generally un-label-conscious as myself. But
as I said, if someone's specifically interested in Merino products,
http://www.icebreaker.com/site/index.html is really the market leader.

This year, the posh bog by the entrance saw some business. Nothing like a
europoo to start the day in comfort.

They're what I have. Pat more recently bought some Crane ones from
Aldi, at half the price. They look ok, and will get tested next month.

That would have involved getting dressed ,putting on boots and
    striding 60 paces.
No use when you wake up and need to go *now*
