The TMRA 2 meeting for the Tarrant Chapter was a good one.. Mike Alvey chaired the meeting, as usual.. Seems like the newly installed Advisor for that Chapter was unable to attend, so Mike graciously stepped up to the task and did his usual good job.. Thanks Mike.. The main topic of interest just happened to be the Legislation Day discussion of our very impressive showing in the Capitol.. As I have previously reported, the results won't be known until all the Bills are voted on later in this Session.. The general consensus is, that the Bikers who participated, did a very good job in representing the Texas Bikers .. Every brother and sister who made that bitter cold ride and spent the day walking our Capitol deserves respect and gratitude from all of us who ride in this great State.. I believe that our presence was effective in impressing the legislators who will be voting on all the laws and Bills which will affect each of us, every day.. There was also quite an extensive discussion about the upcoming Veteran's advocacy support for our armed forces men and women who depend on the Dallas VA hospital facility.. For the ones who don't read Dallas Morning News, there have been several fine investigative type articles published concerning this facility.. The show of support for the men and women who use Dallas VA hospital will take place on the 26th of Feb.. Confederation of Clubs have declined to endorse this event and their chairman Big Kid hasn't been involved to this point.. All participation is strictly voluntary and personal, so the support for the event doesn't involve TMRA 2 .. It's up to each one of us to decide whether we'll actively participate.. I will be there.. Several visitors were present and were introduced.. Each one became another TMRA II Warrior and is very welcome.. Although this meeting was not quite as large as I had anticipated, I have to say.. this was a very enthusiastic and exciting group, who are anxious to be engaged in the important work of TMRA II...
