    Hi,

I have managed to buy a Hagon shock on Ebay for my 2001 model Bandit 1200S.
Problem is I cant find any instructions about setting it up. Hagon have just
said they are "on the cover of the box" but I haven't got the box!

I have heard somewhere that I shouldn't tighten the spring down bu more than
10mm from it's initial bite - that doeasn't seem much.

Can anyone send me some instructions or any advice.

    Thanks,

PS My weight tends to be between 14 and 15 stone (!) and some of my riding
    involves a pillion.

Thanks for this it is some help but I did see it before my post. Do you know
whether these are the "instructions on the box"?

You will note the comment in my original post about the 10mm bit and this
says the same.....10mm from what? The picture shows the preload screwed past
    half way down the thread.

I think the shock is initially sent set up by Hagon and it is 10mm either
side of this.........but I don't know what the initial set up was!

    Any more contributions?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Does your owners manual say how to adjust the stock unit?, same idea
applies. They come fairly well set up from Hagon in the first instance, so
hopefully yours hasn't been mucked about with too much. Start off by
setting the sag as per the Suzuki manual. You'll be roughly OK with that.

Referring to '10 mm from initial bite', when the collar first really
requires a C spanner to turn it, thats the initial bite. Doesn't seem much,
but then they only have a short travel to start with. You dont really need
to unbolt it to adjust it, but I would recommend adjusting it with the bike
on the main stand. Half a turn, take the bike off the stand and push down
on the back. When it feels about right, lock the grub screw back up and go
    for a spin.
