  2. Sheesh, there you go again Gerry.
On again about the bikie gangs
Relatively speaking....are the bike gangs any different to a church
    congregation?
Not really, they both gather to meet at a meeting place
one is called a clubhouse and the other a church
still basically a building with nothing in it during the week

    Taking your statement for example
Sounds very much like the Catholic school and Church I was brought up in

    With a supreme leader:
    bikie gang................President
    Catholic Church......Pope
for other demonimations of church worship, add you own name of leader
    Bikie club...................membership fees
    Church.........................Sunday plate collections
Break Bikie Club rules...............physical damage and thrown out of club
Break Church rules...............................Eternal damnation in Hell
    and excommunication
Do as I say, not as I do
Bikie club.........I can root your daughter, but you don't touch mine
Church...preaching the dangers of alcohol, while getting smashed on the
    altar wine every night
preaching the dangers of temptations of the body, while trying to root every
    little altar boy

You name it, the church organization is almost the same as a bikie club,
only difference is the name and what you drive / ride and where you live.

But getting back to you statement again.
What are the "racist laws" you talk about
none of the bikie clubs I know of, and I know quite a few Gerry, none of
them have "racist laws" in progrress

Not sure, Gerry - but it seems to me that all groups - be they
churches, schools, bikie gangs, families, nations, political
parties... have sets of rules, conventions or standards which they
expect members to adhere to if they want to be part of the group, and
to enjoy any of the benefits that the group enjoys. The kid who
misbehaves in class, the heretic, the non-conformist, the deserter -
all 'earn' the displeasure of the hierarchy and are subsequently
punished. Conformity seems to be a way to survive. Thank goodness
there are non-conformists about, though, to drag the sheep out of
their comfort zone, question the status quo and make life interesting!

but in those days, they'd prescribe a nice cup of tea as a remedy for
    lots of ills, I imagine.

What's your point, George? Two wrongs make a right? Religions do it
    too? What ?
Ok, I'll retract that as unfounded. I got confused by the large
perscentage of racists arseholes drawn to outlaw clubs and therefore
assumed they'd build their prejudices into their 'laws". I can't be
bothered digging around for proof, so I'll recant (for now.)

I guess I'm trying to say that some rules are applied a bit harshly
and without much wisdom or maturity.
I think you can judge the mental health of any group by the degree to
which it tolerates non-conformity, critique , and dissent. And by
the methods these are dealt with.

    Interesting article.

    Reinforces my favourite truism:
"The lobotomising effect of peer group pressure."

I think we can now figure out why demcracy will never produce anything
except a mind boggling mediocrity engaged in a race for the bottom.
(Helped along nicely by the PR brigade, marketing and advertising.)

    We're doomed.

My decision to give up has been vindicated.

Well, yes, they even thought radium was a great cure-all.

In WWI, those who became spontaneously enlightened on the battlefield
and hence refused to fire another shot, were court martialled and shot
    as cowards or traitors.

Those who were so traumatised by the mass killing that they became
jibbering wrecks were told to "get a grip" and were accused of
malingering if they failed to rejoin the killing, and shot.

    All very character-building stuff, Nev.

And to stop the fuckers questioning things and waking up to what was
really going on, they were lavished with medals and hailed as heroes.
All very seductively lobotomising, that. The whole country is still
    hypnotised by that crap.

And the band played Waltzing Matilda...

Go join up and do your bit for Australia, Nev. Sadly, you've missed
the opportunity to bag yourself a few Iraqis, but don't fret, this
year we're using the Afghans as target practice under the guise of
    delivering "freedom and democracy".

Go, Nev, it'll make a man of you. They'll give you a uniform and
even a medal or two when you get back. It's a real adrenalin rush,
Nev. Beats bungie jumping... And you'll _definitely_ feel like "one
of the boys". Gives you a real sense of belonging, Nev. Hooah !!!

Go on, Nev... You know you want to...

And when the anxiety attacks and the flashbacks still haunt you forty
years later, valerian "tea" can have a very strong and welcome
sedative effect. It is a potent drug, make no mistake about that.
I wouldn't compare it to ordinanry tea at all, Nev.

Sorry Nev, gotta go polish my Infantry Combat Badge (again) while I
watch Apocalypse Now - Redux (again).

I love the smell of Brasso in the morning...

    It's the smell of... bullshit.

Failing that, there's always the outlaw clubs to help you find your
    "original face".

Bullies, thugs, and small-dicked arseholes who get a hard-on hanging
out with bullies and thugs, that's who they are. All that
"brotherhood" crap is just a front for a bunch of psychopaths and
their hangers on. "Epic fail" doesn't quite encapsulate it, does it?

What do we call you? Ex Ex? Double Ex? Double Cross? Hmmm?

  19. Okay, too late for any reply, I have only just come back from riding across
350 kilometres of the Melbourne metropolitan freeway network to catch up
with what I have missed on in the last three months,
It was good up until it started pissing down rain late this afternoon
