For those of you who are looking to get one of the halfords pro spanner
sets, get thee to halfords as soon as possible.

They have a set on offer, similar to [1] for 35ukp.

The set has the ratchet heads that are angle-able, and the set has 8
sizes[2], not 7. "While stocks last".

Indeed - did some fettling today. They've got a wonderful feel, nice
weight, and they get into some tight spots.

    Wankers.

They pulled a similar stunt at Xmas 'cept it /was/ the £49.99 set in the
link you provided. They had 'em for £25 and like a total tit, I failed to
    buy them.

When I was fettling I found I needed two spanners, one either side of
the fitting. I think if I had two sets I'd be in home-mechanic heaven.

Go on - you know you want to. You could always ebay them after the
    offer...

Bollox! Gee I'm so pleased that I bought a set at full price just
after christmas when the special offer sets had all *just* sold out...
B*st*rd salesman said that they wouldn't be repeating the offer...
That said, they have earned their keep, so perhaps I shouldn't be
    bitter...

Mine too. More than 25, in fact. But I'm not certain it would have

I've got/had some Kamasa stuff of that vintage. It was good, no doubt
about it, but it turned to shit sometime in the mid 80s. Might be better

Today yes. Remember what was around 25 or 30 years ago; clumsy,
ill-designed spanners and socket sets made for Clunky the Locomotive
Boy. Compared to that, Snap-On stuff was a world apart - it was a sheer
    delight using it.
