Picked my everso slightly second hand Duke up at the weekend (less than 2 months old, 281 miles on the clock, a pair of titanium Scorpion end cans - if you can imagine a fully automatic 12 bore being fired then that's kind of what they sound like - and assorted KTM aftermarket goodies all for a grand less then a standard new one). Been hooning around on it and can only say I really wish I'd got one ages ago. Even in it's not run in state it's a blast. It inspires a lot more confidence on twisty roads than I ever felt with my ZX10r and round the city it's way ahead for agility (although they're not really two bikes you can directly compare I guess). I don't even miss the mind blowing acceleration - yet :) On the down side my mate ran his R1 into the back of an old dears car on Saturday. She pulled out in front of him from a garden centre - apparently he hit it at about 50mph (although possibly a little more from my experience of how he rides), sent the bike and him over the top. Thankfully he's alive although has damage to all limbs (broken bones and torn ligaments) but nothing life threatening. Seems some people want all the attention and are prepared to go to any length to get it :)
