One of the fundamental rules of bangernomics: if you buy a car
for 240GBP, and write it off 238 days later, then your
depreciation will be more than 1.00GBP/day.

I suppose you'll want the gory details, so here goes:
A505 from Baldock towards Royston. At the end, a roundabout that
leads onto the Royston bypass. Turn left at the roundabout, into
an immediate right then left out onto a fast downhill stretch.

Somehow, I found myself heading for the exit from the
roundabout, but I was 15 feet to the right of where I needed to
be. Instead of facing the bypass, I was facing a traffic island
that divides the two carriageways. Specifically, I was facing a
road sign, behind which was a lamppost.

So... BANG goes my car into the sign, wrecking the bumper, then
BANG into the lamppost with the right front wheel, breaking the
steering and/or suspension.

No harm to me, no other vehicles involved, but my 19-year not-
damaging-a-car record bites the dust.
