Heh, I just got a nice piece of work sorted and got paid.

Now what were the recommendations for quiet helmets that don't
    steam up?

    Was one the Laser revolution?

Currently I have a Xlite, I would like something quieter.

And I have a tall screen on my bike, in case that is going to
    make a big difference.

Yeah, they still import them, but they are very hard to find. There's no
Uvex dealers that I know of in London, Essex or Kent, and I spend every
day looking at what helmets are stocked in shops all over that area.

  3. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Howard
Revolutions don't steam up, but are (IME) noisy.

I'll probably have another one though, unless Lozzo's mob get their act
together and produce one with a double glazed visor and an integral sun
    visor.

I think I've explained before just why they never really sold very well
over here, depsite being a top lid.

What's the "normal" shop price for one of those Nitro Flips that you
recommended a while back. I have not seen them in a shop locally but
LXDirect have the F317 for £99

    And heavy
I do miss that bit. OTOH I don't miss trying to keep the sun visor clean.

Yeah. The finish is less than great. Mine has so far delaminated two
visors, the cheek pads' lining has worn through and the chin vent flap has
fallen off. All that happened in about 7 months. Thing is I *still* think
    it's an ace helmet.......

Not got too far yet then.

Revolutions are noisy, damn. Uvex search = safety goggles.

    Any other suggestions?

My new yerrat, a Caberg Justissimo, does not fog up and it does have a

I am aware of the concept and therefore decline their offer to sell at
that price. I may avail myself of the Littlewoods catalogue free returns
service to find the size that fits me. Then find a cheaper online source
    and order one :)

Hmmmm, I feel I should mount a spirited defence.

The viros de-laminating I can accept under cleaning, being flexed too much.
The vent flaps were always a bit stiff and I spose I *might* have forced it
while begloved, but I fee not.

As for the cheek pads wearing through, definitely not due to clumsiness.

Not really that spirited, in fact.....

  19. my visor de laminated, the cheek pads moved, the bit next to the visor
disintegrated, the vents fell off, Loz had to adjust the visor so it
didn't have to fall off every time I opened it & the cover at the top
    of the head fell out.

The only thing I loved was the double glazed visor. everything else
about the lid squealed 'I am cheap shit'. If I could get the visor to
fit a decent helmet I'd be more than happy.

This is weird. I did a shitload of miles in my two Uvexs, about 12,000
miles each. The only problems I had was with the cheekpads wearing out
on one of them, which I had replaced by the importers under warranty,
and one of my visors delaminated but still didn't steam up or leak, so I
    left it alone.

If I wasn't almost obliged to wear one of my current employer's lids[1]
    I'd still be wearing them.

[1] I've been told that it is politically incorrect to crash whilst
wearing anything not made or supplied by our company. I can get away
with wearing my M2M 2-piece MJKs because we don't make trousers that
will fit round my expanding waist with a leg length short enough.
Strangely, one of our sister companies makes a 1-piece suit that fits me
perfectly, but I don't always want to wear 1-piece leathers.
