Have G&G killed aus.moto?

I nearly fell for his "invitation" staw man too.

Forget Marty, he's just Clem's sock puppet.

He hangs around in groups because he finds it easier to gauge the
drift of the conversation and just nod knowingly in mindless agreement
rather than actually having any thoughts of his own.

Long a go, he was "taught" (probably behind the school shed) that it's
dangerous to express a dissenting opinion, and, having failed to
deck the bully, he decided that intellectual cowardice was safer than
risking "peer group" disapproval, so now he always checks which way
the wind's blowing before opening his yap.

You know the type... They're called gutless wonders, sycophants,
toadies, hangers-on, take your pick. They always orbit around bullies
and are more than happy to follow their lead (sort of like the
    Australia/U.S. Special Relationship.)

    Welcome to:
    Group Dynamics 101
Lesson 1: The Lobotomising Effect Of Peer Group Pressure.
(At the moment, Clem's milking this phenomenon for all it's worth :)

Are you paying attention, George, there _will_ be an exam.

If there's one thing we can learn from Jesus, it's from his final
    words on the cross:

"Lord, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

    I thought it was:

    Please elaborate.

This is true... as a very recent example Jodz and I had dinner at a
steak house in Melbourne as part of a group of 10 ausmoto/ex ausmoto
people tonight to say farewell to BVR before he headed off back to the
UK with his new (and nice) girlfriend (no we've got no idea what she
    sees in the bugger either!

Although the only one who is still a regular poster these days other
than me would be Smee I think (a couple of the others are still
    occasional posters though I think).
I wouldn't have called a steak house dinner and a few drinks elitist but
then I didn't understand the elitist claim the first time around to be
    honest.

So this would be GB mentioning G-S calling G (one of t'other) etc...

Ok, I may have assumed it was his son. Some young dude dropped his
bike on a run they were on and the way IK ridiculed him didn't apeal
to me (even if I got it wrong about their relationship) so I gave him
a serve. We've been "friends" ever since. That's my recollection of
it. I went looking for the original thread (circa 1997?) but IK or
Intact Kneeslider seems to have disappeared from the archives of
ausmoto. anyway, the fuckchop isn't worth the time I spent trying to
verify my recollection of ancient history, so there you are.

    Academia..!
    Ya just can't beat it.

As I see it, some of these guys end up knowing everything about
something but not much about anything else.
But then what would I know :)

What about an aus.moto archeology department?

They could specialize in researching Johno's childhood...

What we *really* need is a web forum to tie it all together and give us
the opportunity to discuss the newsgroup. I'd recommend one with lots
of bling to ensure everyone is able to express themselves precisely.
We needn't bother with moderation because we're all friends here.

  16. Glad to provide entertainment :)
(Actually I felt a bit nervous about posting that as it sounds wrong,
    but ****, it happens.)

Let's face it, I can't talk about motorbikes at the moment, dammit.

  17. One day that draft manuscript might go further.
Yeah - well I didn't get to bed til 3am and I couldn't put it down.
Sun was coming up when I finished but I couldn't stop. Nice work.

  18. Not talk about motorcycles on a motorcycle newsgroup

damn, what is the world coming to ???

    George W Frost, Jul 27, 2009
  19. Well I would if I bloody had one. It's why I just skim through this
group at the moment. "Oh, it's a lovely day, I'm going for a ride"
tends to irk me when I'm in severe bike withdrawals.

    Kevin Gleeson, Jul 27, 2009
  20. Sorry Kev if you took it the wrong way
I was just being cynical for the elitists here
