  2. Apparently his podcast is the most-listened to on iTunes. So much so
that he is about to start charging for it ($7 a pop!).

But I agree with you - unfunny and boring. As well as a complete
    nebbish.

Unless, unless humour is an individual thing and what some people find
    funny, others don't.

  4. Same as Nithing :)

OK - ok - it's Yiddish. And means 'someone who is not even worthy of
contempt - or even notice'. Roughly.
Nithing is Saxon and means 'one who is lower than a thrall' - ie
    'worthy of nothing'.

Agree, but over the last 3 or 4 episodes it has become very
formulaic, to the point where it was highly predictable. It'll be
interesting to see (hear) what the next lot are like, because
I seriously don't think I'd pay if it carried on the same.

I liked The Office, as it made me cringe and it made me laugh
in equal measures. It rightly came to an end before it too
just repeated the same old jokes.

I like Extras as well, as this was very similar to The Office
in the way it was brilliant observational comedy. The last
episode is fantastic. Again, you wouldn't want to watch
another 6 episodes as it just wouldn't work for a longer
    period.

There's nothing worse than starting with something new and
fresh and funny, but watching it slowly rot away after the
same jokes have been done over and over again, eg Friends.

Is Ricky Gervais a comedy god? Yes and No. He obviously
has some touches of brilliance in his writing and the way he
puts that across on the screen, but I'm sure if you didn't
find it funny you would think he's a cock... which kind of
brings us back round to where we started...

  9. I'd suspect that I might agree with you if I knew what you meant by
'your' wierd. It seems to be missing a 'dree'. OTOH, when I was at
school, if I thought a programme was crap, I'd have said so.

May I state here that I have no opinion about Gervais as I've never
    heard (of) him.

Are you judging him on The Office and Extras?[1] Try and see the dvd
    of his stand-up show 'Politics'.

[1] echoing antonye, I found The Office cringing in places and funny
    in places. Didn't enjoy extras

There's a thread in the Shed ATM suggesting alternatives for
    naughty-bits/bodily function swearing/insults.

I think the best one so far is 'top-poster'.

I've been listening to the podcasts on my phone while out walking the
hound and have caught myself several times laughing out loud like some
sort of mentalist and being given a seriously wide berth by everyone
    else in the park.

Makes me chuckle he does, although he is the third funniest person of
the three in those podcasts, I reckon.

I found his shows 'Politics' and 'Animals' amusing. Also found The
Office to be painfully accurate and something which made me cringe; a
very accurate and amusing charicature of office life.

Extras, well I wasn't that impressed by it.

I think he writes well and performs well, I wouldn't state he was one of
the best comics but he's certainly a good comic.
