I think you should wire it so the other one comes on main as well.

Smells like faintly of spam, but it's not to blatent. I do wonder
about the "if you can change a bulb" and the "fit it in 10 mins" claim.
My bike is wired up properly from the factory, but if it wasn't there's
no way you'd fit it in 10 minutes. If it involves changing the front
    headlights then 2 hours maybe.

ok, I didnt make it that clear,
you're only changing the bulbs [the new electrics are in replacement set],
and then run a wire between the two connector blocks,
it really does only take [me] 10 mins, but i've had to do it a fair few
    times to get it right,
seriously, it shouldnt take anyone much longer if they are happy to change
    the bulbs themselves

the reflector shells have the same focus point, you can't have a main and a
dipped beam in focus coming out of the same shell - having said that, i'm
    still thinking about it

Do try to learn how to post and trim the sigs.
That is, of course, if you plan to hang around.

If you're just trying to flog your stuff and
will be gone in the next breeze, don't bother
learning to post, you can **** off right now.

I didn't mean have the dipped and main on at the same time. It looks
like you've done a mod that allows one dipped and one main to be on. Why
not have it so just dipped or just main are on? If it's as easy as
running a wire like you say, it wouldn't be a hard job at all.

I've had 6 lights on the front of my bike at one time and I've managed
to have them wired up right. You could just get yourself a H4 block and
stick it in your LHS shell. Not a difficult job and even I could can do
    it.

No, the point I was making was that to get the bulbs out of the Daytona
requires you taking the front fairing off, which requires you take the
wing mirrors and other gubbins off, and getting it all back on again is
trickier than lunging wildly at the pope[1].

From other tailes of headlight bulb swappery on here not all bikes are
terribly easy to swap the bulbs on.

[1] Thanks to Bill Bailey for this wonderful mental image.

ok, there are two reflector shells on the bike, one is angled for dipped,
one for main, they each have one focus point, so, a fitted bulb, when in
focus, will either be dipped or main. The bike from the factory comes with a
single filament bulb in each shell, so riding in daylight on dipped, you
only have one shell/bulb/light on, making the bike appear lopsided, or that
you have a blown bulb. The kit lights the main beam shell when your riding
on dipped, evening up the appearance of the bike. The bike is already fitted
with H4 blocks, but the factory fits H7 bulbs.
Honda made the 1000s lights look lots better.

    Right, I'm with you now.
So are you saying that you're riding with main and dipped on?
Have you tried fitting H4 bulbs, just to see what the beam pattern will
    look like?
I must admit those "one light on" arrangements are a stupid idea.
