  6. One Kevin Gleeson was Sidecar Master of Mac Park in 1978, monkeying
    for Alex Campbell.
    http://www.macpark.org/history_master_of_mac_park.htm -- a lot of my
Phoenix Club mates' names are there...

  7. Yeah. That set me up financially despite my salary being taxed;
nothing to spend it on for a year. That and my mother sharing a Lotto
win while I was away, so she could lend me $30,000 to buy my first house.

I _must_ digitise my slides one day...

One never realised ambition which you have reminded me about is to pilot
a proper racing outfit. Not race (too many people sharing the track),
but speed hill climb. I did once do a practice day at a twisty sprint
course on the Guzzi outfit. My mate, who was passenger, started off the
first run sitting in the Squire RS3 ostentatiously reading the paper. By
the last run he was paying more attention.

Outfits take up so much room though and I only just got rid of one
because of that. Perhaps when a solo gets to heavy for me to foot round
the hairpins in the wet I will get one.

  10. Well there ya go. I was 18 at the time and on the other side of the
planet though. And still living with my parents; ergo, not allowed to
own a motorcycle. Had a pilots licence and aerobatic endorsement and
was getting into rally driving, but wasn't allowed a motorbike. Go
    figure.
