We all cheat - but it doesn't mean we didn't do it. And sometimes we
don't cheat but everyone thinks we did.

You do have to wonder just how empty a person's life has to be for them
to spend the amount of time and energy needed to make one of those
    things, though.

If you're going to make posts on a public forum that so clearly
involve private "history", then it's down to you to make it public, or
    to STFU.

    Your call. Fatty.

It was ticking along nicely, then there was the credit crunch. The whole
    industry's gone into melt down.

The Bill, The Royal, Heartbeat - all either cut back or cancelled to
save money. The current series of Shameless - cut in half. ITV has cut
its budget by over £38 mil, IIRC, C4 about £30 mil.

TV will be increasingly reality shite and increasingly less quality
drama (what little there is) and quality documentaries. By this time
next year you'll see a massive difference. If you think it's bad now...

As for film, I was supposed to start a feature in a couple of weeks but
    that's now on hold...

I went to a screening a couple of weeks ago for something I did last
year at C4 - of all the crew there, the vast majority weren't working,
with most of those not having worked for at least 8 weeks.

You, the TV audience, want cheap, mindless reality TV. Well, you're
    gonna fucking get it.

No we fucking don't! My 70 year-old mum does; she loves Celebrity
Strictly Factored on Ice's Talent and all that crap.
We (SWMBO & I) are of the opinion that as intelligent 40-somethings,
we're not the target demographic and there's pretty much **** all worth
    watching on TV these days.

US cable output is pretty good.

Weeds, The Wire, Dexter, Sopranos, Six Feet Under and True Blood spring
    to mind.

V's working her way through the whole of Prison Break atm. Like most
yank imports/rentals/downloads/whatever it suffers massively from "we
need more of this but we've run out of plot" syndrome.

well, I was joking. If that was the reason, they'd not have let you do
