They are superb and last night's was no exception. I love the 10
minute "how we did this" slot at the end. Fascinating stuff.

Indeed. Just brilliant. I think Champ hit the nail on the head when he
said there's plenty of good stuff on the box, but you have to channel-
hop to get it. Which is what you'd expect, I suppose, now that we have
(however many) channels, rather than everything being distilled into
four or five channels.

Same potential viewing market, but many more channels: you're always
going to get a dilution, and cheapo crap TV for the brain-dead.
Overall, though, I reckon there's just as much quality TV being made
now as there was 20 or 30 years ago. It's just spread more thinly.

 

Grab an old Tivo off ebay. Works fine with VM, record what you want,
watch what you want, when you want.

I'm 'aware' of five of them, have actually seen parts of four of them,
and attempted to watch episodes of, err, well, parts of episodes at
least, of three.
