Hi...need to change both tyres on my beemer...has anybody heard of
Heidenau tyres from Germany...the service place suggested this as a
(cheaper) alternative to the original Michelins.

Like to hear if anybody has had any experience with these?

What tyres you want to run depend a lot on what kind of riding
you want to do. You can get anything from 100% street to
    agressive knobbies on the GS.

I'm happy with the Michelin T66 / T66X / Anakee tyres on mine and
will probably rush out and fit another set soon.

Metzeler Enduro 3 have a good rep too, but won't save you any money.

    Cheers Sharkey,

Mainly street and highway. Currently have T66 on it front and back and
    quite happy with their performance.

Thanks...you did answer my question...I'll probably go with the Anakees

Heidenau's been around for a long time.
AFAIK, former East-German product, then taken over by Metzeler (which in
    return is owned by Pirelli).
Only known them to supply pushie/ moped/ wheelborrow tyres in the '60s...and
tubes for all/ any vehicle (car tyres at the time).
Bruce Collins Enterprises in Melbourne (Ringwood) brings them in.
Going by German newsgroups, they seem well known over there but haven't
established themselves as a "regular" brand...mostly used by the MXers
    though.
