Had my Shoei XR-1000 for 3 years now and, whilst still a good fit, it
definitely feels less tight than when new. Is this common and is this a
sign that a helmet may need to be replaced? Or perhaps it is possible to
get new the various pads replaced?

i have some underpants the colour of which has slightly faded due to being
washed. also the elastic is a bit looser that it was when i bought them.
tell me, font of all wisdom, is this normal for underpants?

I've tried several Arai helmets and have never found one that "fitted" so
    I've concluded I have a Shoei shaped bonce :)

I have been mulling this over for a week now and am still unable to
conjure up a suitably witty response.

you could always call me a red nosed bastard. it wouldn't be true but it
    might make you feel better.
