Am in the market for a new helmet
Now I'm quite aware that you get what you pay for, but I'm not made of
    money.

Any recommendations for Aria or Shoei
Ive got £ 200 budget and have seen the Arai Condor Star Flag & the Shoei
    Z-One heavily discounted
any known issues with these options?

This is just a wild stab in the dark, but I'm guessing that the above is
    not very work safe, yes?

That depends on where you work.

Depends on your work, really. Doesn't do much for me, I have to say.

My Shoei XR-900 was 189 quid (from memory, definitely less than 200)
and I'm very, very pleased with it.

Ah - one of the things I really like about my Shoei is the great build
quality. I don't have an Arai shaped head. Do Hein Gericke stock Uvex
    lids, do you know?

Heh. I recently bought a new lid and the primary factor was fit. I so
wanted the Nitro flip as it was a good price and had pos user reviews
    but it just wasn't comfortable.

So I tried on several more until I finally found one I liked. It was a
KBC VR-1 and felt really snug and comfortable. It had a gold sticker
and was in my budget so I bought it.

BTW just to be clear: I'm not recommending the OP buys the same lid as
I did. I recommend they go out and try lots on until they find one
/they/ like. Then take it off and see who it's made by ;-)

Have a HJC at the moment, its ok but the straps worn to buggery so may be
    unsafe

I didn't get that message from the OP's first post. It sounded like he
had seen that these two lids were reduced in price and wanted to know
which was better - without having tried either. ICBW of course.
    Fair comment.
Another piece of the lining fell out of my FM last week revealing the
manufacture date to be "2nd quart 1993". I feel I got VFM from it.

This is something I *really* need to stop doing now. Nice new lid and
stinky old gloves are not a good combination.

But it just seems such an obvious place for them to go...

Well it's not the first time I was wrong and I'm sure it won't be the
    last either.

I tried to get out of the habit of doing it, and found that I could
hold the gloves securely in the external gut-adjustment straps of my
Dainese Dry-line jacket, but it looked so incredibly hom that I had to
    stop.

    It certainly sounds hom.

I always kept my gloves in my lid even at home and in the office; these
are pretty easy to avoid now. It's what to do with them when you pop
out somewhere that's the problem. I've started putting them under my
seat but it's not as quick as stuffing them straight in the lid.

I've got a HJC Symax and it's impossible to wear sunglasses with it
    on, which is a bit of a bugger as I haven't purchased a tinted/smoked
visor yet. Have you had any similar problems?

Sensible thing to do. Not every helmet fits every head. Shop around for
the one within your budget that fits properly.
