Bought an Aria Chaser today. Long over-due replacement for the Aria
RV. Comfy, light, sound levels ok-ish, but whats the FOAK view on the
quietest helmet on the market, for an Aria shaped head?

I know this has been done before, but Im a numpty at driving this
    thing...

Are you still riding a R1150GS? If so, there isn't a quiet helmet due to
    the way the screen works.

I got a slapping here for mentioning Nolan in a previous thread. The '84
is very quiet, but I may not be Arai shaped.

There's no such thing imo. My Uvex is quiet on the MV, noisy on the
Tigers. My Lazer is quiet with a leather jacket, noisy with
textiles[1]. Or to put it another way, the noise around a helmet
depends on the angle of the helmet to the airflow, which varies with
different bikes & heights of riders, & the airflow itself, which varies
with the same things as well as the clothes you're wearing.

[1] All relative as ear plugs that fit make all helmets quiet.

There is no such thing as an Arai shaped head.

Have you tried recently made Arais? They've made a big effort to make
their helmets suitable for all head shapes in recent years. If you
can't find one to fit then you're a freak

Whichever one fits over your head while you're wearing earplugs.

A couple of years ago, I spent several hours in HG trying on every
helmet they had in my size[1], and eventually concluded that only Shoei
made lids that felt even remotely comfortable on my head.

Maybe its time to fork out for some propper custom-moulded plugs, the
EAR foam ones fit but arent brilliant.

Tell my head that. Arias seem to fit me better than AGV or Shoie...

if they are the EAR Classic ones then they are not as efficient as the
newer types like EAR Neons, MAXlite etc.

There's a thread from a few days ago with some links for suppliers. Lucy
Dell does a sampler pack of many different types which is worth trying.

Mack's Hear Plugs. I swear by 'em and I find they're more effective for
the money than custom moulded ones.

can recommend these lot (someone here posted it). I was very happy
with the service. I appear to have a lot of the "Quiet ear plugs"
    though.
