Florida, New York, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington and
California. Never had a problem understanding anyone at all, apart from
some wino in Palo Alto, CA who was detached from reality.

I've never had a problem with Merkin accents either. I even understand
    what Dubya says.

I had more trouble understanding people in Blackburn than anywhere I've
    been in the US.

I have trouble understanding why you'd want to.

Took him six years to win his first one though which you could take to
mean it took him that long to unlearn his superbike habits and learn
how to ride the strokers and to learn the tracks (and get a comptetive
bike of course). About the same length of time a 125cc / 250cc rider
would take to work their way through to the top class then. So does
    he really count?

Did I say he was doing bad? He still seems to lack that essential
killer streak that marks out the true champion though. I would lay a
bet that Vermeulen will beat him to winning a MotoGP championship.

I said I could understand. It doesn't mean that it makes sense, IYSWIM.

Oh really? How about his attempt to go up the inside of Noriyuki Haga on
the last turn at Laguna when he had a wild card ride in WSB. He took Haga
out. So desperate to do well, he tried anything. Now is that sleaze or a
    racing incident?

  9. It's one of those things you know about what's safe and what's not when you
are a local. I also regularly rode my bicycle (in the daytime only) through
the neighborhoods of Overtown, Liberty City, and Little Haiti with nary an
    incident.

No no, it's all quite clear. You want salt with that chip?

That is a big chip you have on that shoulder there. From where I am
sitting Giberneau and Biaggi get (and deserve) a whole load more shit
thrown at them for underachievement and bottling it. Or do you only
tend to frequent US based discussions?

Favouritism by whom? By Yamaha? Certainly, Rossi's still their best
chance of retaining the championship. Ditto for the team.

By the FIM, or Dorna? I don't think so.
Why? Not even the Spanish are that fond of him. Sure they supported
him, being the only chance of a win in the MotoGP class, but now they've
got Pedrosa and to a point Elias, and soon they'll have Lorenzo and
Barbara. Gibbers just seems to have lost it though.
    heh, Rollerball on bikes.
    So why ain't he winning?
You can't? Trying taking off those rose-tinted goggles. I'm not saying
that what Hayden did was wrong, it was a racing incident. Much like the
Rossi/Gibbers incident at Jerez. As a self-confessed Gibernau fan,
you're going to be biased though.

Try looking at the overhead footage as suggested by Bear. If you really
still have issues after that: get over it.

  18. Mark,

Do you not see how apaling your lack of objectivity and interpretation of
    facts is?

Unfortunately you seem to construe anything approaching a dissent of your
posts to be "dripping with your indignant disapproval and superiority". I
cited dictionary definitions that supported my POV, too . Then you bailed
out with "In any case, again it's just a matter of personal definition." But
you're right. In that specific instance we weren't really (directly)
discussing racing. So what? It was still relevant to the thread. Also, if
you can't be sure what my feelings were based on, what makes you think you
can be so sure it was a personal attack? You are the one who has resorted to
    name calling and ad hominems.

    QUOTES FROM MARK N:

"What you don't see is me spewing out the personal abuse, attacks and
    belittlement"

"dripping with your indignant disapproval and superiority, and you know it."

"So please get off your high horse."

    "Don't be a dick, Carl"

    "Carl, it's a fucking expression."

"In the future I'll try not to abuse the English language so cavalierly, so
as to not bruise your Rossiphile sensibilities."

"I think you're getting a little confused again, Mr. Sunpissed."

"Seems almost like a bit of a gay love jones to me."

"First, I meant exactly what I said, it's just that you're being incredibly
literal over an expression that apparently you aren't familiar with and
    don't understand."

    "**** you, Charlie."

    "Don't be such a simpleton."

In many ways you are an asset to this NG. It could also be argued that,
based on the volume and content of your posts, you "drive" RMR. Your
analytical opinions are greatly appreciated. The evidence and breadth of
your research is outstanding. But it is diminished by your bias, bigotry,
temperament. I don't know anything about your personal life nor do I wish
to, but for whatever reason, you have a massive desire to dominate the NG.

In your posts I don't recall you saying, "I could see he was pushing the
front end and going to lose it" or "The way he was sliding the bike was
saving the tires for a late race charge" or any 'live' type comments. Many
of your analyses seem to be based on lap times, equipment, press releases,
or other people's words. This doesn't mean your opinions aren't of value. As
I said above, they are. However, it means your analyses are not complete and
you do not seem to want to allow room for other people's opinions to be
    considered as valid as yours.

As for my "Rossiphile sensibilities", if the name and home of the man who
had won the previous five championships in the premier class of roadracing
was Buttwipe Jones from Mobile Home, West Virginia, my 'sensibilities' about
Jones would be the same as they are for Rossi. Too bad you don't want to
    realize that.

When did Gibernau get a factory Honda?
    I wonder why that is...
