    Hi to all up north...
    Couple of questions:
Are the Gateway Motorway route 1 (between Springwood and Airport) and the
South-East Fwy route 3 (between Springwood and CBD) toll roads?
    If yes, also for bikes?
If yes, how much loose change do we have to bring?
    Thanks for the help
    cheers

The M3 isn't but the Gateway is.
Just one toll at the river and I think it's $1.10 for a bike.

$1.10 for bikes across the Gateway, we won't be going the Logan Motorway (the other
Toll road) and the South East Freeway is a freebie.
Qld has never been big on tollroads and we've gotten rid of one by protesting it. :)

And the sooner we go to all Etags the better. It was great in Melbourne not
having to worry about tolls. Bloody nuisance fishing for change at toll
booths when I go over the Gateway.

And we should be able to laneshare like they do in Melbourne too. And park
    on footpaths!

Down there they can share lanes, so you can overtake cars stuck in traffic.
Check out the Vicroads website for the details.

People do it up here too, but not legally. Down there cars actually move out
of your way if they are blocking you. I loved riding down there!

    Got a reference for that?

The only stuff I can find on the vicroads website warns against it.
It does not seem to be illegal to pass on the right of a vehicle in the same
lane, but it may attract a charge of dangerous driving.
But don't depend on it. We get idiots who will move to block you off, too.
    I love riding anywhere.

Believe it or not, this privilige isn't limited to Melbourne. In case
you didn't know, it's a Victoria-wide thing. You know, those bits of
Australia OUTSIDE of the metro area...

You mean footpath parking? Mate, if it's real country there's
no fucking footpath to park on!
