So there I am, cleaning the keyboard (yep, still plugged in) and suddenly
the fucking taskbar appeared on the right hand side of the screen as opposed
to its usual place at the bottom and it's refusing to go back to its
    rightful place..

Now someone out there must know how I can get it back and I'd appreciate
knowing. Obviously, the YTC comments can come as thick and fast as you like,
but a solution would also be accepted.

    Cheers

Drag it, but you need to drag from near the Start menu, at least you do
    on this here XP.

It drags, but only half way across the screen leaving rather large blue bit
that's fucking useless. It won't drag down though. XP sp3.

But then it'd be locked half way across, coz it won't drag all the way.
    Not locked. Yet.

Not much point locking it where I don't want it though.

Now altogether, to the tune of "Oh Lord it hurts to be humbleW

"Don't forget to lock the collective before you leave the machine"
    ExPee service pack 3.

I get that, but when I drag, all it does is expand the taskbar 'til it fills
    half the screen.

Given that so many on here are supposedly experts in the "art" of
computerology, I'd have thought that someone might have beat me [1] to the
    answer.

I just switched the **** off and switched it back on again.

[1] Who knows less than a 1/4 of **** all about these things.

You're dragging the edge and therefore resizing it. Drag it from the
middle of the bar and as you move out of the way of the task bar, a grey
rectangle should appear at the bottom, showing you where it will drop.

I discovered that hitting that "restart" button and fucking off for a cuppa
    works amazingly well.
