PSYCHOLOGICAL TEST

As you may or may not be aware there is a new position in Queensland, the
Emergency Services Chief Officer. It covers all three services and
interviews were recently held.

I was lucky enough to be in on the interviews of the final 3 applicants.

There was a police officer, Snr Sgt from memory, a MICA paramedic and a
Firie from the upper ranks from one of the bigger stations.

The last part of the process was a two phase psychological test.

The Paramedic was the first to be test. The psychologist said "The first
thing I want you to do is count to ten."

"Sure", said the paramedic "Easy. 1 2 3 4 5 BREATH!" after realising his
error he asked if he could try again, the psychologist consented.

"Easy. 1 2 3 4 5 breath!" the paramedic knew he had blown the interview and
left.

The Police Officer was next in and the psychologist again said the "I want
you to do is count to ten."

The Snr Sgt was a bit cocky seeing the paramedic leave so soon. "Is that
all?" laughed the cop. "1 2 3 4 5 6 RELOAD!" again the psychologist was
shocked that a test so simple could be fail so easily. He decided to let
the copper try again.

The cop tried again. "1 2 3 4 5 6 RELOAD! BUGGER!" Shaking his head the Snr
Sgt left the interview room.

Finally the Firie walks in and the psychologist explained the test. With a
quizical look in his face the firie says "Ok, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10"

The psychologist was stunned. "Do it again" he says.

"Sure, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10"

The psychologist was now pleased that one of the applicants has passed the
first part of the psychological test.

"Ok the next thing I want you to do is count past ten" the psychologist
said.

"Yep, No problem. Jack, Queen, King........"
