  1. Didn't Honda has just won the manufacturers championship? I thought, what
with Valentino being such a God and all (gee, really leaves a foul taste in
your fingers, typing that sort of stuff), that he would have won the
    manufacturers championship for Yamaha?

Honda may not have "destoy[ed] him", but they still won the manufacturers
    championship.

Honda may have won, but it's a pretty hollow victory. If they are in any way
proud of their achievement, they've got major problems. They won purely by
numbers (that's not taking anything away from the Honda riders), it's just
that they are everywhere, and there's only a few Yamahas.

Safety in numbers, like Aprilia in the 125cc and 250cc

    Whats your point?

That there are more Italian manufacturers buying championship titles than
    Japanese manufacturers, apparently.

Yamaha: two full-factory teams, one with Rossi and Checa, the other with
    Melandri and Norick Abe/Olivier Jacque.

Honda: one full-factory team with Barros and Nicky Hayden, two satellite
teams, one with Biaggi and Makoto Tamada, the other with Gibernau and Colin
    Edwards.

Gone are the days when half the field was on Hondas, and, don't forget, when
Yamaha made an all-out effort to secure the last two-stroke constructors'
title (which they didn't) in 2001, they fielded *eight* full-factory bikes
(the Marlboro team with Biaggi and Checa, the Red Bull team with McCoy and
Haga, the Gauloises team with Jacque and Nakano and the d'Antin team with
Abe and (guffaw) Jose Luis Cardoso)

The reason Yamaha didn't win the constructors' championship this year is
because while one of their four bikes was usually out the front, winning,
the other three were either upside down in the gravel trap or finishing
15th, while the Hondas kept on filling the lower podium places and finishing
    just off them.

Case in point, at the PI round this weekend, which was characterised by a
small number of retirements, the top 10 went
    Yamaha-Honda-Ducati-Honda-Honda-Honda-Honda-Honda-Ducati-Yamaha.

Yeah that may be true of 10 years ago but it's only Ducati's "numbers" that
have kept the World Supers alive these last 5 years since Honda decided to
kill off the series and take the Supersports to MotoGP.
Who cares if it's 20 Dukes vs a few semi-private Jap bikes (and the weirdo
Foggies) provided we got to watch an extra 30 good close races each year!
(60 if you count the two GP classes that the Supersports would've
    replaced!)

So when does the 125's and 250s actually change to 4stroke, I thought
it was end of next yr... ?? something like going to 250 4 stroke, and
    400 4 strokes...?

As far as I'm aware there's no firm plan in place to kill off the current
    GP two-strokes.
