Some of you may remember me whinging in here about the cost of brake
caliper seals for my VFR800 a while back.

Well today I've stripped down the front calipers for the Thundercat
and found they're in need of replacement.

'Hello, my good Yamaha parts fellow... how much would a set of piston
seals be for the front calipers of a 1999 Thundercat?'

    '£28... a set.'

    'HFM?'

    'And you need four sets...'

I forgot to ask whether that included VAT as well, but picking them up
    regardless tomorrow.

Oh well... once these are done, together with the front pads, set of
BT021s and fork seals I bought the other day, I should have something
that, given how good the rest of it is (1), is 'as good as they
    get' (2). :)

    (1) Found out it had the valve clearances and carb balancing done
about 1700 miles ago - bonus.
    (2) Ok... maybe it'll be that once I've got hold of a double bubble
screen and a set of bar risers for it.

Bit late now, but I think these are the right sizes for Thundercats. I
don't know how many you need of each. Prices are for 5 pairs of seals.

    Cheers Eddie.

I had a nose round on eBay earlier and found a company doing a seal
kit for both calipers for £40, so have ordered that instead.

I also found out part of the reason why the OE sets are so dear; they
    include new pistons.
