Hi all - good to be back

Well, it's been a while and I've been hibernating a little - almost
forgotten what the bike community has to offer. Now single :-( and still a
bit fvcked up in the head (more than usual), I'm trying to find my way back
to some kind of balance. For those that know me, the lovely Lisa and I
parted company about 2 yrs ago - still friends but if you've been through
this kind of thing, it's very hard, esp. after 19 yrs together.

So yesterday I registered the bike (due a week ago) and looked at it like it
was an old friend, patiently waiting for me to make contact. I remember all
the miles with the missus on the back (and the same with the biking... *boom
tish*) and wonder what long tours will be like on my own. Maybe a wash
    could be a good start!

Perhaps tomorrow or this afternoon I'll have a quiet ride to Warriors to
regain some experience on the XX, make a start at getting some arse stamina
and try to reignite the love (hmmm...).

Anyway, hope you're all still well and approximately sane and maybe I'll get
back into this old passion with you good folk eh?

    Cheers,
    Dave E '03 XX

Hehe - yes, and won't unclip the intercom during one of my interminable
rants without telling me for miles and miles. :)

    Cheers and thanks,

Welcome back, it took about 5 years and 3 relationships before I was
truly over my ex-wife, it's hard but I found riding to be a great way
to sort yourself out, hopefully it'll help you too.

Sad about your marriage, *seemed* like you had the perfect partner who
    enjoyed riding pillion with you....

I think you need another Ducati, that will cure all issues, its the
brand fellow Aussies race and win on!

& we are ALL stuffed in the head!I am perfect example of that!

I may just have to take up your good advice there John! I think a few quiet
spins through Gloucester, Walcha and to the oldies at Wauchope and back
    could be very therapeutic indeed!

    :)

Cheers mate - at least we're still friends I suppose.

As for the Duc... well, indeed you may be barking up the right tree there...
    :)

*ducks to avoid nasty retorts from certain Triumph owners...*

    Cheers,

Let me know when you're going if you want company - I'm keen for a
spin that way again sometime soon (errm soon is like Sept - Walcha is
too bloody cold at this time of year !)

  11. I've been going through a divorce this year and nothing has helped me more than
getting on the bike and going for a long ride. Clears your head and keeps you
    sane.

  13. Not really. But sometimes I can fake sane well enough to fool people for short
    periods of time.

  14. They just get so hot mate, sometimes I have to turn them to "Low" or
    even switch them off completely!

    Dave! Oh poetic muse!!!!

Great to see you again, and sorry to hear you've been having a tough time.

Can certainly vouch for the benefits of a bit of bike therapy - especially
long tours - to fix whatever ails you. It may not keep you sane, exactly -
but you'll enjoy your insanity a whole lot more out there on the bike!

In any case, I reckon sanity is overrated...

    <snip>

Damn - I'm flattered by all the kindly remarks! Now I'm going to sit back,
crack a beer and reply to the messages... esp. the one about Lisa being
    "free"... SOB! :)

Actually I'm considering heading off to Wauchope tomorrow afternoon to
Gloucester, Walcha through to Why-yakka-hope-ee (Wauchope) on Fri morning,
    fruzzing conditions or not! WHOOO-HOOO!!

Now, to the fridge and back to pen some loving responses to you all...

    Cheers,
    Dave hehe

Hehe - sounds damned fine to me. If I've not sold the XX by Sept, we'll
certainly make a run up that way mate. Looking forward to it!

    Cheers,
    Dave
(Last time it damn snowed on us - I didn't make a hasty retreat but a
ridiculously small part of me did...) :)

Hmmm - bought an electric blanket the other night - reminds me of the days
all those years ago I stayed at the grandparents' place. Pushing 40 and
considering getting back on the bike, thoughts turn immediately to heated
grips, electric vests and ultrasonic willy warmers (which probably wouldn't
apply to me - though I'm a bit of a quickshot, I'm not quite ultrasonic...).

Must be good to at least have warm hands eh? May have to check out MAW
    tomorrow! :)

    Cheers,
    Dave

I think the _important_ part of JL's suggestion was more the bit about
Hehe - yes I got that too. However it's probably just that - taking a few
fine ladies for a zip 'around the block' that is likely to be the cause of
    pain! :)

    Cheers dude!

Maaaate - what's going on??? You were always one to ooze subtlety and
    vocabularian finesse...

Gees mate, I'm starting to blush! :)

Mate, I've now moved to the outrageous suburb of Lane Cove. It's very hard
sometimes to keep up with the night-life here - the constant buzz is very
draining, especially after the relative sedation of Chatswoo! :)

I'm out of town a lot with my workies but in the next few weeks I will be
here for a bit and so we'll hook right up and down some steaks, bullshit
each other about our prowess on bikes/chicks/inflatable sheep etc. and chew
the damned fat! Looking forward to it. Maybe, just maybe we could even
duck up the OR for a mid-week, yes????? I'm always here to lead good folk
    astray.

So where's that magnificent trike-busting bastard Pisshead?? Really would
love to catch up and have an "auld-lang-syne" to Wollombi soon!

    Cheers mate,
    Dave
