2000 SUZUKI SV 650 with 49000 miles on the clock. Worth £1500 or time to
    get out the bargepole?

The fact it's got that far surely says something about it's durability.
It go be ready to go tits up at 50k. I wouldn't buy it.

Get the bargepole or a replacement clock!

    pearl of wisdom:
Buy it, wind the clock back and then sell it on.

It's not blue, last three letters "HMR" is it?

I part-exed a 33K mile X-reg one. After doing my own servicing and
checking the clearances (they were nigh spot on after 24K miles) I'd be
tempted to say it might last, but I don't know if it's worth 1.5K.

I was offered as low as 1.2 for mine when it was only 3 years old, so
you should be able to find one newer/better mileage than that.

All depends on how well it's been looked after, and how many of the
necessary replacements have been done, dunnit. Sounds about the right
ballpark to me, but I'm no expert.

    ****, are they that cheap?

I'm tempted to just go out and buy one for Clare, and break that effing
    GSX600F on eBay.

Well, I managed to get a bit over 2K in the end. Try looking around
and see what you find. They're in the realms of "first bike" so you
    might find someone clueless enough.
