High RPM Clutch Slip?

I noticed something weird on the Zephyr this morning. At about 8K RPM
(and 130Km/h) there was a moment (maybe about 1/2 second) of increased
RPM like the clutch slipped and then bit again.

It wasn't a gradual increase and decrease like a "traditional" worn
clutch slip, rather it felt like a quick let-go and grab again, like
    someone "tapped" the clutch lever.

Has anyone experienced this before? The clutch seems otherwise OK. It
will slip if I try a 5K takeoff, but I just put this down to the fact
that I'm a fat bastard and that this aint no sports bike.

When did you last change the oil?
The symptom you describe sounds more like a surging rather than clutch slip.

I haven't changed the oil yet, though I have it planned for next
weekend. I'll be sure to use a good quality oil, and see what happens.
Also, the idea of tyrespin had never occurred to me. Could be that my
rear suspension isn't optimally adjusted and I'm getting a split second
of "bounce" on bumpy roads under full acceleration.

    Interesting...

    Thanks for the useful ideas.

The stock shocks on the Zephulator weren't much to write home about,
and your ones are probably clapped out by now ... so it's possible.
