At last, somebody.
I got very stabby yesterday, reading a series of long archived posts in
a forum where the writer was full of "ofs" instead of "haves" and sundry
other faults for several thousand words. Unfortunately, illiterate oaf
though he was, he knew what he was writing about, so I had to wade
through it.

 

I'm no paragon of grammar, spelling or punctuation. But at least (I
hope) I generally makes some kind of sense.

I was doing a formal document review last week and the author had
declared that that had "organised a lend of some equipment"

Perhaps I should have suggested that they change the wording to "got a
borrow of".

 

Or maybe got a borrow have?
